I guess the best way to begin a blog is to write what is on your mind. In fact, I can't believe I'm doing this. I swore I wouldn't. Oh well...it's a good way to keep a journal, right?
So, as seen by the title, potty training is on my mind. Jarem is almost 3 1/2. I (we) have been potty training him for over 6 months now, and I swear it is never going to end. He's going to go through life NOT potty trained! I know it!! Just kidding, I know that's not possible, but it sure feels like it.
Right now our efforts are concentrating on bribery. Namely money. Yes, I am paying my son to go potty. He gets a nickel for going "pee" and a quarter for going "poop" in the toilet and not in his pants. Lately I've even been taking them away if he has accidents. However, just the fact that I'm paying him to go potty...it's not unlike my mom paying Annie to practice the piano, I guess. I was always jealous about that...
Anyway, I know this will end eventually. He is such a great kid. He's so happy and loves to learn. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing son. I love you, Jarem!

This too shall end....was something that my mom constantly reminded me. Sometimes I think the patience it takes to potty train are to prepare you for the teenage years (Ha! Ha!). Actually the teenage years were easier for me. Like I tell Annie...Hang in there. You are a good mom and we love you all.
Yes, indeed we do! I''m not necessarily looking forward to that day...you know, when I have to potty train my own chillin's. Hopefully, by then, you'll be a pro. HA HA a potty-training pro. I'd like to see THAT on a certificate.
You know what is really fun? Listening to songs and substituting any word that rhymes with "pee" or "poo" with said words. It's fun! For example, take the song "I Get a Kick Out of You" performed by the great Frank Sinatra:
"'Cuz I get a KICK outta POO!" Ha ha!
Jarem will learn, Geash, and he'll do it soon. You'll see!
"Oh poopy!"
That's what a fellow engineer used to say when things didn't go the way he wanted. I guess we all feel "poopy" at times!
Jarem's a super kid, and is growing fast, so hang in there! (Just avoid the nooses) Hyuck hyuck!
You're also a good mom, and we all love you!
